View Full Version : Been thinking of getting a nitrous system to play with. I don't really know why

because I don't race on the street ,don't like drag racing, and don't often drive my car at WOT.
I've been reading about 'em for a while and I think I'm going to get a ZEX system for a lot of different reasons. Not the least of which, they are located in town.I think I'm going to call my buddy and tell him to get me the kit, warmer, pressure gauge, remote bottle opener, and purge system. If I need it,I'll get a higher pressure fuel pump and something that'll retard the timing when I'm using the nitrous(maybe a MSD unit.)I'll let everyone know how it goes if I don't wake up and slap myself for even thinking about it. I'm really curious about one on my car. Plus it'll be fun to install it in secret and pull up on my buddy with his 1.8 T SIII. ;-)

I don't think I ever will because I don't like the idea of having to fill up the bottle on a periodic basis (there's not many places around that could do it anyway).

I will be getting my clutch replaced soon, if I go with sport sach then maybe I will consider the bottle down the road.

Do you have any performance numbers? 0-60 1/4?

And I use NOS refill station for my nitrous express(NX) kit (though NX doesn't recommend refilling from other than NX refill station).

the only refill station available around here is NOS refill station. It's been so good so far.

Need to send back the original RPM windows switch back to MSD so they can modify the voltage. The original voltage in the tach pulse that is used by MSD is +12v. The tach pulse that Audi provides is ~+7v. It can be modified for $35.

I will need this module to avoid nitrous usage after the RPM limiter kicks in (you don't want this to happen). Usually it happens in 1st & 2nd gear, because the rev climbs very fast on the 1st & 2nd gear.

Too bad that I have to wait until this module is modified.

he may discover your secret plans and get a new crew chief to make sure he does not lose to you. 8-)

I'll have to bushwhack him. ;-)
Though when Jaime drives my car, rides in my car, or follows my car,he always remarks on how much power it seems to make compared to what he hears about the 12v. I may have a Friday car with good tolerance stacking. ;-)
