There was a group-buy for the Borla exhaust, but I didn't know how the exhaust sounded with our V-6 engines. I don't want a loud exhaust system or one that drones. Anyone have any experience with this? Does it free-up any noticeable horsepower?

All these brands have nice sounding (little sound to no sound at idle), and when you hit full throttle, vroomm..... I use ansa sport (universal), it sounds great. The reason I get ansa is that they are used by ferraris.

I don't know about borla. I never heard anyone use borla before on an audi (I could be wrong).

I think full cat-back is only available from lltek using brullen muffler. I believe the cat-back system that they offered consists only of 1 resonator and 1 muffler.

You can only add up to about 10HP for muffler change. For more additional HP, you can change the catalyc converter (using Hi-flo cat) or take off the cat-converter (I believe it's a bad idea).

The bottleneck is in the catalyc-converter. Whether you a super duper expensive muffler, it won't add that much HP if you don't change the cat-converter. More expensive muffler just means that they have better sound.

borla unit but with wider piping. From what I know mounting is the same on all 97+ A4s so if it fits 30V and 1.8T it should also fit my 12Valve. I believe that 96 2.8Q has a different exhaust from 97 so maybe it will only fit a 97 12Valve. Either way, its not a catback its just a muffler so even if a little fabrication is required it shouldn't be to complicated.
