Mr.D-'97 A4q 12v 03-25-2003, 06:54 PM I have read some info that the Magnecor wires may not be the best for our cars but I (and many others) have been using them without any problems. Nology also makes wires but are needlessly overpriced. My Magnecor 8.5mm Competition wires were about $90 a set. They make thinner wires for less money (7mm and 8mm, IIRC). babaholiang 03-25-2003, 06:58 PM I'll go with nology hot wires, but they are pretty expensive (around $300). It really works, it provides smooth idling, better gas mileage. Try it & you'll believe. IMO, better keep the stock wires if you want to get other than nology. Even original wire costs more than $100. BERU costs ~$113 and BOSCH cost $128 (alloemaudiparts.com). Reality check: you'll get what you paid for. ucb a4 03-25-2003, 07:20 PM brand newbie 03-25-2003, 07:54 PM hard to beat the German made wires. Factory stuff is sometimes ok Jay JWG 03-25-2003, 09:03 PM Bosch even used the more expensive Beru connectors instead of the cheaper Bosch connectors on the Ultra Premiums. Are better wires any better for the engine? I have OEM bremis on right now. Mike moribundman 03-26-2003, 01:08 PM moribundman 03-26-2003, 01:09 PM Better wires will cause a better spark and optimize combustion. That means the plugs should foul less and wear better. JWG 03-26-2003, 07:06 PM Another 12v'er looked for them but could not find them easily. I pulled the part number for him and do not know what happened after that. If you would like, I will pull the part number again. Just e-mail me if you have any interest in researching the current price on them. moribundman 03-26-2003, 08:58 PM I'll try one more source myself, and if I can't track the the wires down, then I'll come back to your offer.
