The other day I put a hole in my oil pan. I did not realize it for about a mile or so until my oilpressure light went off. Right after it went off I pulled my car over and realized that almost all of the oil had leaked out? I had it towed to my friends house where he has a lift and today I put a new oil pan. I filled the car up with oil turned it on and I have some major rod knock!!!! Now I do not know what I should do, should I take off the oil pan again to access the crank and try and change the barrings that connect the rod to the crank or is my engine toast and would it be a waste of my time to do this? Also if the engine is toast where should I look for a new engine, should I rebuild it or just change the engine all together? Also I do not have that much of a budget to work with, so I am wondering where I should look for an engine and what engines if any will bolt up to my tranny other than the 2.8 12v?
Thanks Adam

Hopefully someone can give you some good advice but, if you're lucky, maybe some TDL big valve heads are in order. =)

you probably already noticed that you can take a peek out of a small area when the lower pan - which you replaced, was removed. To remove the upper oil pan, you have to drop the subframe, or pull the engine out.
