Trying to use a cable I bought off of ebay, just so I can do the immobilizer thing for a chip I bought, and my new laptop isn't recognizing the cable. Please help!

If the cable you got from eBay is an official Ross-Tech cable look here:

If the cable is not made by Ross-Tech (IE: 3rd Party / Home-Made), you will need to contact the vendor you purchased the cable from.
