Holly cow. I just printed off the 17 page (how to) by Dan Mac.. Is this for real. How many people have had this code and actually had to go through all that to replace the little switch. The shops gonna charge me a grip to change this one. Im guessing that little swithch is the cause to all my transmission problems. Tiptronic not working, hard shifts from park to 1st and 2nd to first. As i drive my car, am i causing damage? I cant afford to get this fixed for about 2 weeks.

Good luck. I still havent decided whether I want to do this my self or pay to have it done. If you do it yourself let me know how it goes.

I had this fault reported, has a transmission specialist replace the switch ... made no difference, 00293 error code still reported. :-(

Cost me a packet, still have the fault. They diagnosed a faulty ECU. I have swapped the ECU from another car, now it won't start and I get no response from the 01 Engine module. 00293 error is still coming up fro 02 module even after I clear it.

When I di get this thing running I'm selling it and getting a 2CV. Bleedin technology.
