Periodically from time to time I say okay lets try to run vagcom again.
It seems to work fine on my obd II car but not on either of my obd I's which it used to before I upgraded the software.
I am running xp via serial interface on a sony computer about 30 mos. old.
I believe it was Andy who recommended shutting off any programs running in the backround which I did to no avail.
Is there any way out of this without spending more money?

What interface?
What version of VAG-COM?

You're saying it works on your 00 A8, but not on the 94 or 95 cars?

.. downloaded I think about 6 weeks ago.
It is a serial interface and connector that I got from vagcom when I purchased the software.
The odd thing is that everything worked fine with the old software and when my computer was running windoze ME.
This computer has had no issues running any other software.
I'd try it on an older laptop that I have, but that has no network/internet connection which I believe would make it impossible to install vagcom.
I don't know that there is any easy answer here.
I'll just have to keep trying I suppose.
Last night I was trying to reset the airbag light on the cabrio and vagcom could not see anything. I then connected the (obdII) A8 and it could at least see the engine, but I did not try the airbag.

What does the writing say on the part of the Interface that plugs into the OBD-II port?
