I think it comes deafult "00000" but there are some things (such as recoding the ABS control module) that require a shop code to change any settings. I chose a random number, but I was thinking that maybe I should change it to mirror the shop code for my dealer to eliminate any questions.
Any thoughts???

and almost always puts back the WSC that was already in whatever module you're tinkering with. Of course if you're (for example) coding a brand-new module that has 0 in it to begin with, then you might consider (or have to) put in a WSC.

I worked with Andy over the phone, and we could not figure out why the ABS control module would not take the code. Login was fine, but when we changed the code, is chaged back to zeros.
According to the Bentley, the ABS control moduel required the WSC for proper login to recode the module. Set a WSC (random # at the time that I could remember), and the ABS module took the recode the first try after that.
After some thought (and before my next visit to the dealership) I was trying to figure out how to explain the various changes to controllers, but figured that it might be easier to try changing the WSC to what they probably were in the past.
Can you tell me how to reset the WSC??? Andy briefly mentioned something on the phone, but I did not write it down.

it's "sticky". Delete your VagCom.cfg file, then go to the Options screen, select the correct port and create a new .cfg file by clicking SAVE.
