I just got a connector off ebay; it is a Vag-com comp OBD II connector. It connects to the serial port on my laptop and the 16 oin connector of the car. I am trying to dump the codes on my sister's Audi 2002 A4 1.8t (no xenon lights), because it has a check engine light on and want to know what it is before I take it to the shop. I used the cable on my 2001 Audi A4 1.8t Avant, and it worked fine with the 311.2 release of Vag-coms software. I downloaded both the 504.1 and 409.1 but neither of them recognize the 2002 A4. What am I missing? Something I need to change or modifty, download? Can I get this 2002 A4 to work on my laptop with the cable I have?
