After reading the piece from A4 Advanced Engine Diagnostics Manual I see that the numbers are completely out of whack:

So, translating the numbers I've pulled:
- Coolant temp (field 1) is 174-50=124 C (actual temp was 82 C)
- MAF voltage (field 2) is 0.21 V (should be around 1.48 V)
- Engine RPM (field 3) is 081x25=2025 RPM (tach was showing 800 RPM)
and so on.

Any ideas why Group 000 numbers are off?

Are you sure you're looking at the correct engine (AEB?) and that it is a US/Canadian market vehicle/manual?<ul><li><a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/bcd_order.html">http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/bcd_order.html</a</li></ul>

I was checking against is Course #942600. There is no reference to engine code in it, so I was assuming that diagnostics steps are universal for the whole A4 line at least up to 99.5 (the publication is dated 1996).

Well, I've already purchased Bentley paper manual (yeah, should've bought a CD :-( ) but there is nothing in it that covers Group 000.

My car has a high fuel consumption (around 15-17 MPG city). Readiness code has been produced, so there seems to be nothing broken. I wanted to look at Group 000 to see the long term fuel trim and other data, since the Advanced manual recommends starting there.
