I go to options then test, it says:

Com Port Status: OK
Adaptor Status: Unknown Device

How do I remedy this? Thanks!

You need to select a different one. Look in Device Manager, under Ports (COM & LPT) to see what it really is. If you're running any kind of PDA hot-synch program, disable it, they have the nasty habbit of hogging the COM ports.
