I am thinking about getting the vag tool and here are my questions.

1) Where does it plug into?
2) What is the ease of use?
3) Is there a manual that teaches me how to do what? (reprogramm stuff)

on your car it'll plug in under the dash. If you open your car door then sit your butt on the pavement and look under your dash, you'll see the connector (it's by the clutch pedal)

ease of use? really simple, instructions come with it.

a manual on reprogramming isn't really necessary - everything is online, and there are lots of links off of the VAG-COM forum here on AW already, thanks to our fellow aw'ers.

Good luck - it's a very worthy investment.
