I think last weekends Adelaide Sunday Mail had an article about this and mentioned that Audi Australia would not bring it out because our fuel sucks.

But that is probably correct, all engines need to be tuned to run on minimum 91 RON fuel which is the only universal fuel in Australia. 95 R0N ("premium" isn't widely found outside capitals or major eastern-states regional cities.

Having said that Shell have rolled out Optimax very widely through country NSW, VIC and QLD...

Pretty much anything that uses direct-injection technology won't be coming down under for a while.

That's was a strange read, why would AVW bring out the R32 and not the TT3.2 i couldn't quite understand. However it not stopping other makes like Alfa Romeo from selling thier Direct injection cars.
