You seem to have some insatiable 'need' to prove your A3 (poverty pack) is better than everyone else's A4. What for? Are you feeling that inferior? Are you suffering from penis envy that badly? Or, are you just another young dumb fragrance model with a chip on his shoulder.

Let me point out a few facts for you.

Your A3 is front wheel drive with all the lovely front wheel drive problems - for example, axle tramp, wheel spin, understeer and poor traction.

Our A4's are ALL quattro - which negates 99% of the problems listed above.

Now lets look at the interior of the car - My TOP OF THE RANGE (no poverty pack here) is magnificent inside with leather, wood grain, sunroof, cruize, 10 stacker CD, and all the bells and whistles. And I can actually put stuff in the back! I can take my wife on a drive down the coast, fill up the boot with wine and still put 3 more ppl in the back seat (and there's room to breathe!)

Personally, I don't give a toss if your car is faster down the quarter mile strip. Your pathetic need to brag about the quarter mile times of your A3 is readily apparent in your instant dismissal of Lucas's 12.6 second A4 Screamer because its faster than your A3.

A SS commodore is faster than my A4 down the 400! But I don't care! I didn't buy my car for its quarter mile time. I bought it for the overall quality package it offers. If I was interested in quarter mile times I would have purchased a WRX and dropped 10K on it and run 11 second passes.

If you really must compare quarter mile times then look up the time slip database on this website where you will find a large amount of A4's which simply hand your ass to you in the quarter mile stakes.

So please, stop carrying on in such manner - Your just drawing attention to yourself as a shining example of mediocrity.

In fact, I'll bet the only reason you have an A3 is because you couldn't afford an A4! / S3. If you were really interested in a Fast 3 series Audi you would have bought a S3 for its Quattro advantage and 6-speed gearbox.

I suppose all of this is going to hit a bit close to the bone for you. And I hope the fact that I have used words with more than two syllables does not confuse you. If you would like me to explain it slowly please take this opportunity to retort - I expect nothing less.

I brought a S3 because I was jack of the front wheel drive issues and so on with the Golf GTi :)

As for describing my car as povo ur the one who is povo as im prolly half ur age (22) and i drive an Audi as a first car. Another thing i live in the best and most expensive city in Australia - Sydney. My car has all the options ur car has, if not more the only thing im missing is the wood ( but maybe since ur old u might not be able to get it up and then u like to be surrounded in fake wood)

Really? your car is better??? Please tell us all in what way? Is it the inferior front wheel drive system it uses? Or, is it the fact that you need to put the seats forward to get anything in the back?? I must be confused - I already pointed out none of us were interested in quarter mile times when we purchased our cars - So i fail to see "how your car is better".

As for being faster - well der.. I dont think anyone ever said otherwise! However, and as I pointed out above, there are plenty of A4's out there that will spank you - but your not interested in those right? After all, you couldnt possibly want to compare against anything that was faster than you!

The 'Poverty' comment was thrown in to the mix to dip more flies in the ointment. It obviously worked. And no - you don't have all the 'gear' we do. You're missing the post important aspect - "QUATTRO".

Now, how did you so badly manage to misinterpret my comments? Where did I say I have more money than him? And who really cares? I sure don't! I was trying to keep the debate (for lack of a better word) on track - would you want to discuss your finances on a public forum? And, yes - The A4 1.8TQMS is a better car than the A3. Why do you think it costs more?

I just got off the phone to Audi Insurance - $1700 a year for a 29-year-old rating 1 driver for a brand new S3. Sounds to me like your make believe figure of 7K is a justification for not buying an S3 (a very poor justification).

OK, I confused you two guys - all I can say is that I should have paid more attention. Thought I was still talking to Black A4TQ, though this forum leaves a bit to be desired in the functionality stakes - nevermind.

I'm yet to see any decent posts come from Black A4TQ though, the person who the debate is actually aimed at... hmmmmm

As for this S3 business, none of it is make believe, though I bloody wish it was! If you wanted to compare apples with apples you would have called Linda Gleave at Audi Insurance and asked for a quote for a 23 year old male living in Sydney with a 30% NCB and the figure would have been NOWHERE near $1700. If it was, I would be driving one! She told me if I had 60% NCB I could get it down to $3500, until I turned 25, at which point it would drop again.

In the end I coughed up $3500 to insure a fully optioned new Cooper S... Hopefully I'll be able to drive an Audi S car one day soon...
