View Full Version : With all the coil pack phenomenon in the US, has anyone been affected by CP here in Australia? dA4banger.au 02-05-2003, 07:37 PM Ken - A3T 02-05-2003, 08:19 PM Maybe.... not sure.... My A3T suffers a lurch on sharp corners when cold... feels consistent with loss of spark. Will have it seen to at the next service and report back. YetAnotherA4 02-05-2003, 08:44 PM It's going in for its 30k service next week, so I'll get it looked at then. BTW Audi of America have just announced a recall, after months of denial, to fix the coilpack problem. SilverPas 02-06-2003, 03:33 AM XXX-1.8T 02-06-2003, 05:02 AM I have got it changed under warranty and tried to blame the prob on the chip. hope they have a recall in Oz too so that i can get them all changed to put my mind at ease dA4banger.au 02-07-2003, 11:00 PM work on compiling symptoms of CP failure and the stats of affected cars. SilverPas 02-14-2003, 03:48 AM I received a reply from my dealer after sending them an email earlier this week. Basically thier reply was: Coilpack issue is being monitored to see whether it affects Aus delivered vehicles. There will be no recall untill it is determined that indeed the cars have the defective coilpacks. VWA could not or at least this guy could not give any indications whether the problem was specific to a batch of coilpacks, a specific batch of cars produced or a mixture of the two. Read into this what you like, symptoms of coilpack failure is rough engine similar to a bad sparkplug. I'm not going to fret over this issue until something pops up with my car and I don't expect it too. |
