Kinda weird brochure - not really pushing any models - just letting us all know they did a bunch of stuff first. ok I spose; I didnt really see the point; just weird.....

PS whats a W12 doing in the back of AVUS car?

Didnt VW make the W12 engine?

I thought it was interesting, but I wonder who the target audience is?
Mine was sent to my work (incorrectly addressed at that) so I don't think it is for current owners.
PS I'm not surprised to see a W12 in the back of the AVUS, since Audi is part of the VW group.

Well actually i was told that originally the AVUS was shown as a prototype with a W12 engine sometime around 91/92...However, it was later found that the W12 in the original show car was a wood mock up! Audi went quiet (tho still developed the engine i assume) until it was shown in that VW supercar thingo...

In europe you can get a W12 A8...

I think the two design philosophies were different tho, Audi originally had the idea of three banks of 4 cylinders spaced at 60' angles. The VW W12 uses two of the 15' VR6 motors joined at the base of the block, basically a double-v not a double-u!!

There wasn't a lot there, but there was a screensaver which I downloaded. It's a Flash animation of some of the vehicles in the brochure. However, the last frame is of the new A8, which it states is coming in 2002.
