So is there anything that the workshop does that you can't do at home?

Where can you get a workshop manual from? And how much? $$$$$$$

I just don't like paying $400 for an oil change and some guy looking at stuff to make sure its ok.

You never really know that they even check everything anyway. Call me a conspiracy theorist.

It is for US spec car but many items are identical.
The other item you should get is VAG-COM from www.ross-tech.com software and cable.
This allows you to inspect ecu's for errors and reset service indicators.

but $400 is a bit steep. should be around $100 for oil change with good oil and filter inc labour.
