Hi, some time ago I got quotes for MTM upgrades for my S4 and would love to do it.

What are the repurcussions for insurance and new car warranty? I can't afford to write off my car and then have insurance knock me back.

Does anyone have any experence with this kind of thing?

Thanks

and about the warranty the dealer needs to prove it was the chip to void the warranty.

They probably wouldn't even know about a chip. Exhaust, sometimes OK, call it cosmetic. But airbox + and they would call it too much.

Call them and ask. Just dont leave your name !

Have you tried other tuners?

No, to tell you the truth, until finding this board, I didn't really know others were around.

I saw a full MTM worked A3 here in Wollongong and asked my local dealer about it.( At the time I was wondering about bodykits - not too much point for an S4 I suppose). From there I rang MTM(or the local distributor) and they faxed me through a list of mods (right up to the $40,000 279Kw worked S4).

If you have details of websites/phone numbers etc. I would be interested in hearing about them.

Thanks

They are big here in NZ. In fact, "Every" new A4 B6 1.8T now gets a 187hp upgrade, and full 3yr warranty to boot. Allot of Passats also got the 187hp as an option too. As NZ/aussie run similar ECU's and simialar pump gas, its makes sense to have a look there.

Plus have a talk to Lucus, he gots GIAC chips.
