What does everyone recommend for a track-only pad for a 2004 S4 with stock calipers and slotted rotors?

Dacowieson 07-11-2008, 12:37 PM I have stock calipers and slotted Frozen rotors so we're a similar setup. The stock calipers will hold up fine as long as you are not really jumping on it. I famously had a problem with pad deformation earlier this year and we traced it too very heavy braking (the Glen) with just less than 50% on the pads. That would be fine almost anywhere else but the Glen is tough. I drive in the Red or Instructor group if that helps for a comparison. If you haven't done this before then give yourself lots of time to cool them. At the Glen I have been known to drive all the way down to the gates and back to cool mine. The reason for the difference in front to rear pads? It was recommended by Carbotech. Even with the softer pad on the rear I change the fronts three times for once on the back. I've looked around without any luck. Thanks! deeno20 07-13-2008, 03:07 PM |
