View Full Version : S4 quote Roughtop 08-11-2005, 10:03 PM I was just quoted 865/month for a lease -- 3 yr 12,000 miles w/ nav, Sirius, premium, carbon fiber trim... Does that sound steep to anyone? mofos 08-11-2005, 10:21 PM I wouldn't lease a car anyways. Although, shouldn't a lease be less expensive than a purchase, well, at least initially?? mjb2333 08-11-2005, 11:28 PM angryswede 08-11-2005, 11:39 PM 01a4man 08-12-2005, 12:06 AM I did it with my S. The residual is something like 61% or very close too. That should lower your payment some and the only other two things would be money down and if you qualify for standard rate or preffered rate. Good luck. brendanwp 08-12-2005, 05:25 AM What kind of money were you putting down? What was the negociated price they were basing this payment off? Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 06:47 AM brendanwp 08-12-2005, 07:37 AM On a lease? $750 possible with nothing down? Any recent buyers out there? I've seen '05 CPO's advertised btw 650-700 mth with 2500 down. That seems like a lot, but I don't know. Obviously thats the advertised price, so its just a starting point. Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 07:41 AM should be cheaper then that w/ less miles jmsod 08-12-2005, 08:31 AM kidding... the person trying to sell you that "deal" must need some serious cash. He is trying to sell one car per month. If he does it at those prices then that's all he needs to sell. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 08:37 AM I wanted to do the minimum drive off, which I was told was 1363. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 08:39 AM Good credit. Homeowner, decent income, and only looking for 12K miles/year. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 08:40 AM So what is reasonable? Tal-Yvan 08-12-2005, 08:47 AM jmsod 08-12-2005, 08:53 AM I got into a 2005 S4 in November 04 and selling price was $49,700. Lease payments are $704/month with 16K miles/year for 3 yrs and nothing down except first month, tags, title. I don't think S4s were going for the price you were quoted even when they first came out. Obviously, it depends on your area and demand, but your quote is simply ridiculous IMO. KurtW 08-12-2005, 09:53 AM Roughtop 08-12-2005, 10:09 AM $53,482 Archimedes 08-12-2005, 10:11 AM Roughtop 08-12-2005, 10:31 AM Quoted same car for 820+tax. Still too high? And if so, what is reasonable? Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 10:40 AM Report this info back to us and we can tell you what you should pay: 1) Ask for the residual value. 2) Ask for the money factor 3) Ask for the cap cost 4) Ask how much you need to pay up front We know this is for 3 year/12k miles. jmsod 08-12-2005, 10:42 AM Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 10:53 AM Also, is this a new B6 S4 or a CPO? Is this a 2005.5 B7 S4? What is the color? (some colors cost more). Roughtop 08-12-2005, 11:27 AM Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. Imola Yellow (2005.5) MSRP is $56,395. He said he could offer it at $53,895. Residual is 54%. Money factor is .002. Drive-off of $1924. Monthly lease payment of $820. Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 11:42 AM MSRP is not 56,395 It is $53,770 for Imola w/ Premium, Serius, carbon trim, and premium (including destination and delivery) does it have anyt other options. Invoice on this car is $49,695 (again including destination/delivery) A ok price would be $51,770. After you get that sorted out I think .002 is not the base money factor. The dealer is marking that up about 1%. The base should be about .00135 - (.002 = 4.8%, .00135 = 2.34%) Residual looks ok. Also, the $1924 down - does that include first month payment or security deposit? Roughtop 08-12-2005, 11:51 AM 1924 down includes first month's payment. Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 11:55 AM What about the options. Is Nav, premium, carbon, and serius it? Also, What state are you in? I can tell you what the price should be w/ this info. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 11:56 AM Sorry -- I don't think I included all options: 0LM/1QE California/Northeast Emissions N/A N/A N/A WPX Premium Package $2,900 $2,639 $2,900 PND Audi DVD Navigation System $1,950 $1,775 $1,950 PSB Audio Package $1,500 $1,365 $1,500 -- Sold Order Only Paint $750 $683 $750 PAW Cold Weather Package $400 $364 $400 5MK Carbon Fiber Belt Line Trim $300 $273 $300 7K7 Tire Pressure Monitoring System $250 $228 $250 3Y5 Power Rear and Manual Side Sunshades $225 $205 $225 6W9 Front Grille Filler Panel Roughtop 08-12-2005, 12:06 PM I'm in California. Imolla yellow is not an extra cost paint. Invoice should be $50,810. an ok deal is $52,810. If, I use his numbers (.002/54%/$53895 cap cost/$1924 down) I do get 820/month SO, MY MSRP is correct at $54,995. Seems like a bit of a jerk to tell you it is $56,395 Anyway, If you use .00135 money factor/ %54 residual / $52,810 cap cost/ with the same $1924 down for 36months The monthly should be about $736 before taxes. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 12:09 PM This is very helpful and greatly appreciated! Where do you find the correct money factor so I can call him out on that? It certainly makes a big difference. Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 12:09 PM Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 12:10 PM Info is also on the B7 A4 forums. My dealer tried to do that to me also (mark up the money factor). Don't stand for that. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 12:10 PM Also, the car has 18" 5-ARM CAST ALLOY WHEELS W/HIGH PERFORMANCE Roughtop 08-12-2005, 12:11 PM I really appreciate your help. Seriously! If money factor and residual check out (follow the edmunds forums as this question was just asked) then $820 could be correct. Very high compared to what people paid here but Audi may just not have any good lease specials right now AND nobody here may have this many options on their car. I sure don't. I only have premium/cold/audio only. This saved me about 4-5k Roughtop 08-12-2005, 12:41 PM I think he was shooting straight. He said there is a $1500 gas guzzler tax plus a $150 emissions. Roughtop 08-12-2005, 12:43 PM This is the car. Hmm... This has really been helpful. I really appreciate your help with this. Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 12:47 PM Roughtop 08-12-2005, 01:00 PM He just went down to 799/month. He said he won't go lower. We'll see if anyone can beat. Car Crazy 08-12-2005, 01:06 PM jmsod 08-12-2005, 02:19 PM Once you have this figure then add 3%. This should be your limit as to what you will accept as a selling price. Good luck.
