I was just quoted 865/month for a lease -- 3 yr 12,000 miles w/ nav, Sirius, premium, carbon fiber trim... Does that sound steep to anyone?

I wouldn't lease a car anyways. Although, shouldn't a lease be less expensive than a purchase, well, at least initially??

I did it with my S. The residual is something like 61% or very close too. That should lower your payment some and the only other two things would be money down and if you qualify for standard rate or preffered rate. Good luck.

What kind of money were you putting down? What was the negociated price they were basing this payment off?

On a lease?
$750 possible with nothing down?

Any recent buyers out there? I've seen '05 CPO's advertised btw 650-700 mth with 2500 down. That seems like a lot, but I don't know. Obviously thats the advertised price, so its just a starting point.

Car Crazy

should be cheaper then that w/ less miles

kidding... the person trying to sell you that "deal" must need some serious cash. He is trying to sell one car per month. If he does it at those prices then that's all he needs to sell.

I wanted to do the minimum drive off, which I was told was 1363.

Good credit. Homeowner, decent income, and only looking for 12K miles/year.

So what is reasonable?

I got into a 2005 S4 in November 04 and selling price was $49,700. Lease payments are $704/month with 16K miles/year for 3 yrs and nothing down except first month, tags, title. I don't think S4s were going for the price you were quoted even when they first came out. Obviously, it depends on your area and demand, but your quote is simply ridiculous IMO.

Quoted same car for 820+tax. Still too high? And if so, what is reasonable?

Report this info back to us and we can tell you what you should pay:

1) Ask for the residual value.
2) Ask for the money factor
3) Ask for the cap cost
4) Ask how much you need to pay up front

We know this is for 3 year/12k miles.

Also, is this a new B6 S4 or a CPO? Is this a 2005.5 B7 S4? What is the color? (some colors cost more).

MSRP is not 56,395

It is $53,770 for Imola w/ Premium, Serius, carbon trim, and premium (including destination and delivery)

does it have anyt other options.

Invoice on this car is $49,695 (again including destination/delivery)

A ok price would be $51,770.

After you get that sorted out I think .002 is not the base money factor. The dealer is marking that up about 1%. The base should be about .00135 - (.002 = 4.8%, .00135 = 2.34%)

Residual looks ok.

Also, the $1924 down - does that include first month payment or security deposit?

Roughtop

1924 down includes first month's payment.

I can tell you what the price should be w/ this info.

I don't get the paint charge. Imolla yellow is not an extra cost paint. Invoice should be $50,810.

an ok deal is $52,810.

If, I use his numbers (.002/54%/$53895 cap cost/$1924 down) I do get 820/month

SO, MY MSRP is correct at $54,995. Seems like a bit of a jerk to tell you it is $56,395

Anyway,

If you use .00135 money factor/ %54 residual / $52,810 cap cost/ with the same $1924 down for 36months The monthly should be about $736 before taxes.

EXTRA COST PAINT Code: ___(I don't think imola yellow costs extra per audi's web site)

CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS Code: 0LM
GAS GUZZLER TAX Code: 996
FRONT GRILLE FILLER PANEL Code: 6W9
PREMIUM PKG Code: WPX
SIRIUS AUDIO PKG Code: PSR
18" 5-ARM GMBH DESIGN CAST ALLOY Code: CH9
HEATED FRONT SEATS & REAR SEATS Code: 4A4
REAR SEAT MOUNTED SIDE-IMPACT AIRBAGS Code: 4X4
PWR REAR WINDOW/MANUAL SIDE WINDOW SUNSHADES Code: 3Y5
CARBON FIBER INTERIOR TRIM Code: 5MK
AUDI DVD NAVIGATION SYSTEM Code: PND
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM Code: 7K7

All this will make MSRP $56,395
Invoice is: 52,099 in which case $53,895 is a good deal.

If money factor and residual check out (follow the edmunds forums as this question was just asked) then $820 could be correct. Very high compared to what people paid here but Audi may just not have any good lease specials right now AND nobody here may have this many options on their car. I sure don't. I only have premium/cold/audio only. This saved me about 4-5k
