My clutch started stinking from last week. It smells as if something is burnt under the hood.
Today i was searching in the forum to see if anyone else had the same problem. Was surprised to see few more people with the same problem.
I had been to 3 dealers. Nobody could find the exact reason or fix other than that my car runs fine most of the times.
Is there somebody here who had this problem and got it fixed? is this a known problem with Audi clutches??
Can't believe myself that I spent 29k on a car that I don't feel confident to drive without breakdowns. :-((
Pratap
98 A4 1.8TQ (Cactus Green)

You may want to have the dealer check the clutch slave and master cylinders. They have found some to be leaking. I have not seen any to have caused a burning smeel but you never know. When the master or slave cylinders start leaking it will cause the clutch pedal to be loose or weak.

No i don't rest my leg on clutch or misuse it.
Actually when i went to dealer he asked me to drive it to see how I do. He saw me drive for more than half an hour. At another dealer, they drove it to if it smells. They also observed it.
Thanks and regards
pratap
