Ordered the adapters directly from MB to install the MBQuart's in doors and rear deck. Which arrangement is considered best - seperate amps for front and rear (1 under seat, other in trunk area) or 1 amp with 4 speaker outputs. (In trunk or under seat)
If you go with the seperate amps you will be able to control front and rear fade. With one amp you can only control left to right. Besides, to me it sounds like you are looking for very good, clean sound. You've taken the first step with the MB quartz, now finish it off properly. To get your best sound, get amps with a higher RMS output than the handeling of the speakers and run the amps with the gains at low settings. This way you achieve the best (lowest) distortion rating. Definately go with the seperate amps

with a single amp with four inputs and four outputs you still have FADER control!!
If you are using the concert head, you will have four outputs. THIS WILL GIVE YOU FADER CONTROL WITH A SINGLE AMP. With an aftermarket head unit, you have to make sure it has two sets of preamps or else you'll need a line level converter.
Separate amps require more wiring...you'll need a power distribution block.
Do what you want, there really is no advantage in either setup.
steve

4 channel amps are not truely 4 channel. Meaning they don't have 4 seperate amps inside. Without getting into anything too tech., what a 4 channel amp does is splits 2 seperate signals 4 ways. Every time you split the signal you create distortion. Of course when it is inside the amp the distortion is minimal, especially when you are using good amps like PPI or Alpine. But it is still there. A 4 channel amp with 2 inputs only advantage is the ability to fade, but you are giving up sound quality. My intentions through my advice is to help you acheive the cleanest sounds possible. 2 seperate 2 channel amps each with it's own signal from the head unit will produce more power with less distortion, therefor the cleanest sound...

I've heard of a/d/s... but I've never heard one in use or even worked with one...
What are they like? What's the THD rating?
What kind of wattage are we talking about?
