The new S4 will be what, 100 pounds heavier than the current B5 S4? So what is with the 0-60 factory numbers?

The new car will have 94 more hp than a stock B5 S4, and over 40 lb-ft more torque.

I cant wait for some real world tested performance numbers.

and take into consideration the increase in hp & tourque.

B5 S4 Published 0-60 was 5.9 seconds. Most auto mags got 5.5.

B6 S4 published 0-62 is 5.6 seconds which translates 0-60 in about 5.2 or 5.3. Hopefully the real world testing will be about 4.9 - 5.0.

Like you, I can't wait to see what the real numbers turn out to be.

You've probably seen them - the same type of humor and many of the same actors.

I first saw This is Spinal Tap in junior high school (a year or so after it came out) and it has been my favorite show ever since.

Gearing ratios should be put out intelligently so that people can take advantage of the entire rev range instead of people like everybody here obsessed with the 0-60 times. There's a lot more to this car than just that, and if it does it in 5.6, it's still a damn fast car.

99% of you will never take a car to the track, and stoplight racing is all that ever happens so I don't see the need. Besides if you try to reproduce the 0-60 times of magazines you won't have a clutch for long.

Don't take any offense, it's just a general message to those people obsessed with 0-60 times. You have to realize what a marketing tool it is rather than an actual measure of any type of performance. Look at a slalom # or skidpad # for some real performance numbers.
