"You can believe me or not, but this is accurate info, I promise. " Let's see.......

-New S4 will be released in 15 months in the US

Will we see them by 7/15/03? Doubt it - more likely October/early Nov.

-Engine will be roughly 360hp 4.2L basically the same engine as the S8.W

We're getting the 340 S6 version.

-Car will have all aluminuim suspension, aluminum hood, fenders and rear decklid (trunk), making the total weight roughly 3470lbs, depending on options. Car will also have ligher weight glass, and magnesium frame seats.

It's a possibility, but the current B6 A4 advertised weight is 3627 add 75 lbs for Tiptronic and 100 for gas and you're at 3800 lbs. I doubt they're shaving 150 lbs off the A4 for the S4

-Car has been tested against the current E46 M3 and is faster everywhere. Car does 0-100KM (0-62mph) in 4.4 seconds and and the quarter in 13 flat at approx. 105 mph. Car is said to be faster than the M3 is Nurburgring by four seconds per lap, and just plain faster everywhere. Roll on, straight line, track time.

Published 0-100 is 5.6. Audi is usually conservative and it is probably closer to 5.2 - 5.3 which puts the 0-60 at about 4.9 - 5.1.

-Front brakes are six piston bremebos currently, but this may change
Doubt it.

I really would like to have the car he described!

the engine is only 16 hp off his estimate, which can easilly be explained with this statement about detuning for us. how is that misguided?

...has to be proven wrong, but my Audi's numbers it doesn't seem likely to happen)

S4 will still be a great car... and with the price disparity between the M3 and S4... expect Audi to sell a few of them.

I won't say a lot, because the people who say they will buy it, and the people who ACTUALLY buy it are two different things. The numbers of sales on these cars are generally pretty light anyway :)

and drive one before I make my decision. I still think it will be a kick ass car. I really would like all the stuff Mike S described though.
