I've got a problem with the back seat entry system on my Sports seats and I'm trying to ascertain if it's a problem with my seats or a design fault common to all models. Basically to allow someone to enter the rear seats you fold the seat back forward and also the whole of the seat can then move forward on the rails. The trouble is, once the seat back is returned to it's normal position the whole seat is locked fully forward and needs to be "readjusted" rather than sliding back to the position it was in before.

I've asked this before and I think I got a few replies (including one from Caster) saying that wasn't normal but my dealer is still insisting that it is. If anybody else has these seats can you let me know what happens when you do this? Thanks!!

Yes, my Sports seats do exactly the same thing. An annoying quirk and I would class it as a design fault.

To have a passenger board the back, you have to swing the front seat forward and then push a special botton on top of the seat to move it forward electronically. After the rear passenger sits down, you (or the passenger) has to press the same button, which moves the seat back to it's previous setting.

People always get confused because of the two-step process. It's helped a little because the electronics remember the original front seat position.

Unfortunatly, I would imagine a mechanical version would therefore function just like you described.

I have manual seats. Basically you lift the tab at the top of the seat, tilt the seat back forwards and push the whole seat forwards on the runner to gain access to the rear seats.

The mistake I used to make was simply to fold the seat back upright & then have to adjust the seat using the lever under the seat.

What you have to do is push the seat back forwards towards the steering wheel a bit further then slide the entire seat assembly backwards on the runner. Once it has returned to its original position, THEN fold the seat back to an upright position

Hope this helps!

I finished washing my car and decided to check this out.

Here is what I did in the exact order

1. pulled lever on the seat and pushed all the way forward

2. took out windscreen!

3. pushed the seat portion back. it stopped exactly where I left it

4. pushed the seat back, back. it stopped exactly where I left it.

5. seat in the last spot I left it!

I think im going to make a video to show this!

I've just spent a weekend away with back seat passengers and their opinions were that they loved the car but getting into the back was pain in the ****. I'll try out the suggestion about moving it back before folding the seat back!

You push the entire seat back and then click the release to tilt the backrest back.

As long as you do this it'll work fine and the seat will return to the proper original position.

Thanks for the advice, so basically you push the whole seat back and then the top part of the seat
