I just got the cab. Any advise on how to wash and clean the cab, especially the top. This is my first convertible.

i just hose it down and not really worry about using soap unless there is birdcrap on it. mainly all i have is dust on the top.

Do I have canvas or vinyl top?
Do I need to waterproof the top?

Both are in black bottles. One is a cleaner, to use with a soft brush or sponge, (diluted in water). The other is a spay bottle (sort of Scotchguard) to help repel water. The cleaner lasts a long time, the spray bottle will treat the top perhaps two times. These are what my Audi dealer suggested I use.
