What kind of discount off MSRP should I expect? I'm considering the FrontTarck/CVT because of the 0-60 performance loss with Quattro, even though I'm in New England and have had Quattros for the past 15 years. Any feedback on FrontTrack/CVT would be appreciated.

I'm not too concerned about ultimate winter traction...that's what the allroad is for. But it seems that the dealerships in my area tend to only stock the 3.0 Cabriolet with Quattro. So I may not have much of a choice.

It simple.. NY Weather.. two people who are both self employed. Will never be without Quattro.

For us that was the only non option. The car had to have Quattro.. our lease was up on the 01 A4, and my wife needed all wheel drive.

You dearl can do a search for a front-track anywhere in the US.

My cousin got one and he said the 1.8T with front track is underpowered.. it needs a bit more for day to day.

... it was the only drivetrain available when I bought the car and am happy with the car. Living in California, I don't really need quattro.

Although I miss quattro with its fantastic traction, sport dynamics, and superior suspension feel; the 3.0 CVT Front Track was already so heavy (3800 lbs), so I didn't want the weight of quattro plus the power loss of Tiptronic.

The 3.0 quattro cab weighs over 4000 lbs, which I find horrible for a V6 compact convertable. The Tiptronic quattro takes a full second longer to get to 60 mph than my 3.0 Front Track. Also, remember that the Front Track also has the smoooooth CVT tranny.

I still find quattro far superior to Front Track, but the weight penalty on the cab (much of which is the Tiptronic) is too high for me.

I hope that future Audi cabriolets will offer the best of all worlds: quattro, a more powerful but still fuel efficient V6 (probably the 3.1L FSI first used on the new A6), and an advanced tranny like DSG.

But who knows when that would be available in the cabriolet!

I've had nothing but Quattros for the past 15 years. But a 1sec penalty 0-60 is too much to ignore in a "sporty" car. I figure most people out there survive New England winters without Quattro. Plus, we have the allroad for really snowy days.

From the Specs Section on Audiworld

1.8T 0-60 @ 8.4
3.0Q 0-60 @ 8.4

They seem to only stock the 3.0 with Quattro. I could always order one but I may not get much of a discount on it.

I didn't like the FT not because of winter traction loss, but because of handling loss in any weather. I'd go quattro for everyday handling, and probably better resale.

If you want acceleration, go for the S4 cab, its great.
