I finally picked up my 3.0 Cab from Bev Hills service on Friday, 10/24. It was there since Oct 1st.
The new transmission seems to have taken care of both the jolting / lurching problem & the hard clunks when turning on a gradient. Cross your fingers!
The drivers seat now moves up & back, and they ordered the under-seat drivers storage bin (should be in next week - I'll go back to get it installed).
They couldn't get the AC to duplicate its weirdness so that issue wasn't addressed (it hasn't done it to me either since I picked it up).
The only drawbacks?
Now the passenger seat won't move back all the way & I got five calls from Lojack Early Warning ever since I picked her up (that's also being addressed).
Sure was nice to be able to drive it, though. I missed her!
Best regards,
Jill

Jill, I have a question for you..when you went up a gradiant, was it small--like going into a parking lot or sloped drive way?

I'm hearing this creaking /clunking noise in my car--coming from what appears to be the left rear wheel and I'm wondering if there is a problem with my transmission. I'm also going to get them to give me tha tunder seat bin as well...I glad you said that--!

Make sure that you check all your seat positions..I had that problem wiht my passenger seat ---thinking it wad mechanical. they had moved it up to fix a piece of plastic trim. I tried ot get that seat back it wouldn't go. then I lowered the seat and then it went all the way back. I have had no problems with since....so far...

Thanks for the tip on the seats. I'll have to try it.
Regarding the "clunking:" the same noise occurred while turning on gradients of any size (i.e., into a gas station, into a shopping center). No creaking, just an audible clunk you could actually feel. Like it was hitting something on the under carriage, etc.
While Audi initially said the new tranny would (magically) cure this malady, I just checked the work order. In response to this problem it says they "removed & resecured the torsion bars." The official tech diagnosis was #01320026. Maybe that will help your mechanic.

Best of luck!
Jill
