That's right, from C&D's January issue, the curb weight of a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE A4 3.0 Cabriolet with a CVT transmission is 3926 pounds. All being hauled around by only 220hp. No wonder there is no quattro. That would make it 4150 pounds. And would require a bigger engine. Adding a 2.7T or 4.2 powerplant would raise that weight to 4200 pounds -- maybe more if related systems had to be beefed up too. Add 4 passengers and you'd be at 5000 pounds, all riding on 235(?)-width tires. I know the rigidity of the cabriolet is supposed to be great, but the pork is really getting ridiculous. That's about the same weight as the FWD Cadillacs. Is there a heavier FWD car made? Just thought I'd share my gripe...
Oh, and BTW, some performance numbers: 0-60 in 7.5 (good for 3900 lbs/220hp); 0.82g (fair), 70-0 in 190' (horrible).
