Hi, Audi Lovers
I'm located in Copenhagen, Denmark and have had the A4 Cab. for around 3 month.
My car was fitted with H&R springs, which lowered the car an extra 30mm, when I picked it up from the dealer.
H&R are the makers of some of the best suspensions and spring systems, and the Audi A4 Cab, was my 11th car with H&R springs.
I never change the shock absorber, since my cars are always new when I buy them.
I have never ever had any problems with, any of my previous cars ( VW, Audi, Porsche and BMW ), but my new Audi Cab is just terrible!!!
I does not handle any sporty, but still it is hard in the city ( driving on standard 16" wheel ), on highway is jumping around, and in nights you can see the headlights jumping up and down. On highways you can feel, that it is the shock absorber that is not working probably!!
I have had big discussions with the importer of Audi. They say it is the H&R springs, that are the problem, but my dealer who have tried the car, says it is a shock absorber problem!!!
I have bought 18" wheels for the car, but it is not possible to drive the car with this set of wheels...in the city you will damage the car to much, and it feels like driving on Lego cubes instead of wheels.
Have any one had the same problem, or what do you think?
I can see that some people has made complaints on this site, with the "jumping" comfort when driving on highway.
On my old BMW 330 cab, I had the same H&R springs and 19" wheels, and it was still more comfortable to drive then my new Audi, with 16" wheels!!!! Strange, very strange.
Some years ago I was racing standard cars, and here we were using progressive spring bars ( springs are getting harder and harder, as the temperature are rising on them ) My car feels like that, but I do not have progressive spring bars on it!!!
Looking forward to hear from you.
