Where are you around town? I live in Wyoming and take mine to Santos Auto Service here in town.

hey,

thats awesome man i live in greenhills. i have taken my car to santos for a quick lube job and filter change!

so i assume you like they service they have there?when i got my car i knew there had been some shady work done to it..
first off i know the throttle switch/WOT is not working, and its idle is adjusted with the stop plate screw among other things

it had been overheating, but upon further review the fan switch was wired backwards!the car runs better now ,but i need some input on some charging issues and strange noises.

i have a fuel and air filter on the way along with plugs, and rotor. hopefully that solves some of the drivability issues as the car really has only been driven 1000 miles in 4 years.

i have the benltey manuals, but some of it is to tech for me to be honest. i have a pretty good understanding but would love to spend a little time with someone who could possibly teach me a bit!

best wishes
mike

I did not mean to close out other options to you- by all means check around, I just figured I would pass along my good experience with Santos. As you probably noticed from their sign and their parking lot, they really do specialize in European cars and seem to do a very good job. Not the cheapest, but definitely a lot cheaper than the dealer, and they seem to do good work. One thing I can say for sure from talking with their service manager (Rob- a large gentleman with a rather high voice for his size), is that they use genuine OEM or better (such as Bosch OEM replacement, etc.) parts, not the cheapest available. Here in addition to labor costs they may not be absolutely the cheapest but it's definitely worth it!

thanks man,

you still up for meeting up for maybe an hour or so? i would like to talk and hear your opinion on a few things. since i live about 5 minutes up the road it would be easy and maybe go get a beer or two with some food my treat!

i was told my trans was going out by rob at santos ,but here 2000 miles later it still is running pretty sweet.. at the time the car had not been driven for almost a year.. it had less than a gallon of gas and old ass filters.. along with some other issues "MFTS" old plugs, cap ,rotor, etc.
i pleaded with him saying all of this, but he didnt really listen to well.although he said he just didnt want to rip me off..

well i did alot of the tune up work, and ran some lucas tranny fix in it..2000 miles later it seems the car runs better each week, but before i go back somewhere i need some advice from hopefully somone i can meet up with and chat..

like i said i'd pay you some cash for your time!i dont want to give up on my car because i love it and want to fix it up..and for me i have worked pretty hard to get it to this point ..given that it was given a death sentence..

take care

Maybe sometime tomorrow afternoon would work for me, or possibly Sunday.
