Your car is not intended to be run with a bov. It is intended to be run with a bpv. Just search "blow off valve" in the B5 and B6 forums, and you will see.

and with an un-chipped 1.8T, you can't afford to lose any more power!

An intake from Stratmosphere will make a BPV audible for the F&F effect you want.

The 1.8t uses a bypass valve to dump spent pressure back into the intake. It's one solution manufacturers take, as it's cheap insurance to maintain corrected air flow readings in vehicles equipped with mass air flow sensors. The other is to have an open atmosphere blow off valve to purge spent turbo pressure. This is now most prevelant in the aftermarket scene due to the sound. However, the concept behind the BOV is to quickly clear a path for the onset of boost in a vehicle that uses MAFless, maximum absolute pressure as the primary manifold monitering device. The BOV is a great solution when running standalone hardware, bigger turbochargers, injectors, etc. because it's one less point of compensation to make to create a near identical requested:actual power curve.

Stay away until you ditch the MAF sensor.

Have you had your ECU flashed? If not all this stuff about blow off valves and air filters is really kind of pointless. The first step to making your car more fun to drive is that added power from aftermarket ecu software.

Once you get your problems corrected from above don't waste your $ on BOV/BPV etc... get flashed before anything. Best bang for the buck.
