from Florida. I need to get my timing belt replaced and have a few other issues looked at. Any recommendations for a good and fair mechanic in the area...I used to go to Franco's in Dania Florida and he was awesome..Will appreciate all referals!
Thanx a million...

There are two places that I might consider:

Dubwerx on wooster pike on the east side or TD performance up at cincinnati mills (used to be forest fair up by the bass pro shop)

there is a guy in dayton that used dubwerx on his b5 s4 and highly recommends them(he runs mid 12's in the quarter)

the other place is new and its a high dollar facility (a tuner shop)

I havent used either but dubwerx is the only vw/audi focused shop that ive heard of in the nati.

Nice to see some people from the nati...

I live up in mason but work downtown at the Sam Adams brewery

I have about 13k miles on my:
06 A4 2.0TQM S-line Ti
APR Stock 91 93 100 MIL delete
RS4 rear anti-sway bar
Various VAG mods
Boston Acoustics sound

Eurocode testpipe coming (in the group buy)
CAI is my winter project

maybe ill see you around

peace...

Dan Miller on the east side (Beechmont Ave) is an Audi guy. I had timing chain etc, done on wife's '97 1.8TQ. No issues.

thanx a lot for the referral..that place is pretty close to my house. I will definitely check it out...I live in Tri County. There's a guy named Chad who's got a garage off of 71 at the Dana Montgomery intersection..he sounded real cool. He was telling me it's too early to change the TB on the Audi and he's never seen them bust at less than 90K..anyways I don't want to risk it. He invested about 10 Grand to be able to service Audi/VWs. Must be the same set up as the guy at Dubwerx..I will feel the Dubwerx guy out and see about pricing and professionalism..
pretty sweet mods on your car...I've been thinking about chipping mine but I've got to get other mechanical issues resolved first. the freakin fading instrument cluster is pissing me off and only solution that I know of is to get it replaced at the dealer for about 800 bucks..I wonder if I can get it replaced with the later version clusters. Is your instrument cluster where the pixels are shown purely red or are they
a different lighter color? I thought I had seen them a different color in the newer A4s..
thanx again..

thanx for the referral. Is that the guy on Ohio Pike? How much did the TB change set you back there? At how many miles did you change yours?

thanx again

Yes, Ohio Pike, Beechmont, Rt 125; all the same road! Actually, we took it in for tie-rods (or something like that) since Audi wanted $1,800. He fixed the front end and timing belt while he had it all apart for about the same price Audi wanted just for the front end work. We ended up doing the timing chain around 60K.
