View Full Version : so who is going to f1 at indy? number7 09-04-2002, 03:37 PM myself, scott w, swhore, indyaudilouie and perhaps s4 del will be in attendance. booked the tickets today. seated in the northwest vista. anyone else going? skinboy 09-04-2002, 05:05 PM When are you getting into town? The club is talking about trying to do some karting the night before the race. number7 09-04-2002, 07:04 PM im staying at louies. AudiSport4000 09-04-2002, 09:35 PM My friends have tried to get me to go with them, but to no avail. Perhaps if Audi was running the LeMans cars? I dunno, maybe next year. I have alot of stuff I wanna get done to my cars before winter! Mike number7 09-04-2002, 11:09 PM tv does f1 no justice. tickets arent that much. you may want to reconsider. i went once and im hooked. riseindy 09-05-2002, 05:10 AM But, I may be meeting up with Scott W and who ever else at some point. Who knows though, I think I *may* be able to swing it. LupuS4 09-05-2002, 07:51 AM Heard the Indiana chapter( try indyquattro at yahoo groups) may have an AUDI/BMW corral at INDY. Don't know if it's in the infield. Scroll a few posts down this link. Attended the past 2 F1 races there. Those V10's at full song down the straight sounds awesome. Heard it from the parking lot the 1st time in 2000 and I was hooked.

http://www.miataforum.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=007659</a

skinboy 09-05-2002, 08:47 AM Well, maybe we can do some karting or the like. There were 3 major karting places. (Racers- now closed, fast times- on the northside near where he lives I believe, and Steffan Johansen - don't know if that is how it is spelled or not) Anyway, Fast Times I suspect will be really busy, but it may be worth a try. Tell him to let me know what the hell is going on, please. skinboy 09-05-2002, 08:57 AM The BMW/Audi corral will be outside the track as far as I know. The Miata corral is going to be inside. i'll probably do the Miata corral instead b/c of location. number7 09-05-2002, 09:41 AM both times people i brought (akediord being one of them...) ended up passed out and vomiting. that and the $1200 dinners... does scott have your #? we'll have to do some exchanging of #'s before we go. riseindy 09-05-2002, 10:22 AM Well, Luckily, I dont drink..so I wont be the guy passed out.. but I would be more than happy to document such events. No, he doesnt have my number yet, but we should for sure exchange #'s here soon. I'm checking into the tickets now..I may be able to go. If not, I want to at least get together for a little bit with everyone. PossumCowboy 09-05-2002, 12:02 PM I live at 98th and Keystone...karting is at 96th and Keystone. It's a fun track. You'll be sweating like Mike Tyson at a spelling bee when you're done. riseindy 09-05-2002, 12:21 PM indyspudman 09-05-2002, 05:56 PM There should be several of us there. I have tix in H section (near NW vista) and will be doing the BMW-club corral deal. This gathering will be just south of the track, on Main Street in Speedway. Tickets are $60 per car, and cover food and drink for the whole week before the race (as weel as race day, of course) as well as guaranteed parking right next to the track and police-lane access right to the track. We did this for the '500 this year and it worked out great. Hope to see you all down there. Look for the quattro banner among all those M flags! //Spud skinboy 09-05-2002, 06:16 PM number7 09-05-2002, 06:58 PM can i meet your class? im great with kids. PossumCowboy 09-06-2002, 12:46 PM The Captain (my wife, Captain Patch-Eye) is going out of town with the girls after Madison is done with kindergarten on Friday. She should be able to stomach *one* evening with a friend of mine. PossumCowboy 09-06-2002, 12:48 PM Might need to see you professionally. Do you provide for Anthem HMO? number7 09-06-2002, 02:14 PM we should get along fine. AudiSport4000 09-06-2002, 03:41 PM I guess Im not all that interested (dont shoot me). My friends really wanted me to go, but Im not going, unfortunately. Hope you guys have fun! Mike Phil type 951 09-07-2002, 11:43 AM skinboy 09-09-2002, 05:15 AM Yes, I believe we do, although Anthem has a bunch of different policies. You can call Anthem and see if we are on your list (Dermatology Center of Southern Indiana). Oh, and good luck getting a human on the phone. They NEVER NEVER EVER anwser our calls when we have questions and just endlessly transfer you from one voice-mail to another. PossumCowboy 09-09-2002, 06:40 AM skinboy 09-09-2002, 10:06 AM PossumCowboy 09-10-2002, 05:47 AM It's nice that people my age are finishing med school and going into practice. Makes me really feel more comfortable. skinboy 09-10-2002, 02:43 PM Yeah, funny. They will refuse to pay anything most of the time. ;-) Seriously, if we're not in your network, I can direct you to some people on the north side. Thanks for the compliment, BTW. PossumCowboy 09-13-2002, 05:38 AM Ernesto (ERT) 09-17-2002, 06:43 AM Looks like if I leave for a business trip a day earlier I can take a 16hr lay-over in Chicago (get in a 6am) and head down. How long is the drive down from Chi town to Indy? I'm thinking of renting a car, but if I can hitch a ride with a audi brethen, I could rid in style, and not have to get lost without my A6's Nav. I'll even cover gas and 'incidentals'... shoot me an email if it works.....TIA Ernesto PossumCowboy 09-17-2002, 09:14 AM |
