View Full Version : cluster replacement mtmspeed 06-08-2007, 08:00 AM does anyone know if you can code an s4 cluster to work in a 1.8 a4? 2000 model, has anyone seen this done? AVANT S4 KING 06-08-2007, 08:23 AM I've got an RS4 cluster in my S4 and it just took some simple tweaks in VagCom. All that needs to be done is setting the mileage and changing the soft coding so the cluster understands that you have a 4 cylinder engine. If you have a VagCom, I can give you directions, if not, you can come over to my house and I'll do it for you (if you are in Atlanta). mtmspeed 06-08-2007, 08:57 AM yes but both are 6 cyl...I'm told by people in the know that it is unlikely that it will accept the coding for a four cyl. but they could not say for sure...I could try it before putting the mileage but the clusters know come shrink wrapped and the dealer will not accept it back once that is broken:( AVANT S4 KING 06-08-2007, 09:30 AM We can try it on my old S4 cluster. If it accepts the coding (and I'd be willing to bet money that it would), then you can open the shrink wrap and install your actual cluster, if not, you can return it. mtmspeed 06-08-2007, 09:35 AM Saaawwweeeeet idear, I knew you you had it in ya...Where can I locate this item?what's the mileage on it? you want to sell it if it works? AVANT S4 KING 06-08-2007, 09:53 AM I'd sell it if you really want it, but the center display doesnt look that great. Either way, you are more than welcome to try it for our little experiment. AVANT S4 KING 06-08-2007, 10:15 AM easier. (see my point?) quickaudi:STFA 06-09-2007, 07:09 AM yes, that's much easier! four door 06-10-2007, 04:22 PM not sure i understand. ;p AVANT S4 KING 06-10-2007, 07:06 PM NT quickaudi:STFA 06-11-2007, 07:34 AM x2 AVANT S4 KING 06-11-2007, 02:14 PM ?? quickaudi:STFA 06-12-2007, 08:38 AM just to continue the madness...
