View Full Version : Anybody here in the Savannah area? I'm usually on the A3/S3 forum,... Hesaputz 05-16-2007, 10:48 AM and I have a couple of A3's. One is in Savannah with my daughter, and I could use a bit of help keeping it up. She just likes to drive them. Ertman 05-16-2007, 12:02 PM have wrench will travel, there are a couple of us down here, but Iam usually the only regular poster. Hesaputz 05-16-2007, 01:43 PM Daffin Park. I'm looking for someone to recommend a good shop (though I may have found one), and maybe give the car a walk around occasionally if I'm willing to buy lunch. I sometimes don't get out there for three or four months, and she's not the best at checking tires, etc. Ertman 05-16-2007, 01:52 PM There is a German shop on Caustion Bluff (the name escapes me now) they do a lot of P cars. Autowerks on Hilton head is/was a factory service center. I work in Statesboro and have a shop up there that I use for jobs when it is over my head or I am too busy. The only thing that I have not done on my car was a timing belt R&R when I was in court for two weeks solid, othger than that, I rturn my own wrenches. Wilmington is the last island before Tybee. Hesaputz 05-16-2007, 02:55 PM She'll probably need to run it up to Autoworks or the Charleston dealer soon for the 5K. I had Autosport on Montgomery St. do an early oil change, change the front pads to Akebonos, install a few accessories. They were nice, and did a good job on this light work. The regular deal is that I show up every few months, detail and service the car, chew her out about what she failed to notice. Her last BMW got bent wheels from low tires, dead leather from a leaky top, etc. She's better about this stuff now, but I'm a cranky old car nut who worries. I do most of my own work, race Porsches, hate to see nice cars get neglected Maybe I should arrange for her to take it by that shop once a month or so. Or maybe I'll be able to talk one of you AW guys in Savannah into into giving it an occasional once over and walk around. Could prove interesting - She comes here, checks out mods on my car, wants them on hers - I think she's getting FSD's next. Ertman 05-16-2007, 05:58 PM I am doing that for a friend of mine who is currently deployed to Iraq. His g/f shouldn't be allow to drive anything but a frigging Honda, she is hell on cars. I do the regular maintenance since most women could find the oil dipstick or put air in the tires if their life depended it on. Hesaputz 05-16-2007, 06:15 PM and again sometime in July - think she's buying a house, and we'll (mom & I) be helping her move. It's just reassuring to know there's someone I can call if it's been 2 months since I've seen the car. See if you can send me contact info through AW, and I'll send you my phone #'s back. They've taken good care. 2fst4u2c 05-25-2007, 10:43 PM |
