I just bought a black on black '01 S8 with 56K miles. One owner and serviced here in Atlanta. It is out of warranty, and I am rolling the dice without an extended warranty.

I am selling my '00 A4 1.8TQ with 53K miles. I am the original owner.

Any tips about the A8/S8 will be greatly appreciated.

Check in with the D2 A8/S8 forum <a href="http://forums.audiworld.com/a8/">here</a>, and definitely read through <a href="http://audipages.com/">audipages.com</a>.
S8s are pretty much trouble-free, but you're almost due for a tranny fluid/filter change. If you need an extended warranty, I've been very happy with mine - email me for details.

I have the stock 7 spoke Avus wheels. I am thinking about the BBS 19" RSGT's or RGR's in the near future.

Would definitely be interested in your recommendation and feedback on extended warranty. I just picked up an '01 S8 that has factory warranty until April. Having just gone through Tranny Hell with my '97 A8, I'll be going for extended warranty for my S8 for sure.

So far they've paid for a new water pump, which saved me half the cost of doing the timing belt/thermostat/water pump, and a front half axle when I was putting in the new springs and shocks earlier this month.
