I'd really like to get some strong numbers.

Wifey is going to lend me some cash. I also would like to tune the fpr while its on the dyno. Then try and do some dyno's after I add the parts.

Don't they charge $55/3 pulls normally anyway? Not like we're getting much of a discount.

But it doesn't quite work that way at a dyno, unfortunately.

Past that, heatsoak seriously becomes an issue.

Although if you're installing some mods for a before/after comparo, that may make it worthwhile.

no heat soak, more numbers, ability to make software tweaks or small installs.

despite my recent posts about not getting chipped yet, I am in talks with someone (from Classifieds) about buying his XChip and trading my stock H box.

but to give them credit.. it is 4 hours away which is quite a journey.

I just paypal'ed an AW member for his H Box X Chip, so i should get that next week. Anyway, I wanna get an MBC to limit boost to 17~18psi. What say yous guys help me install it (in parallel, i would assume)and then tweak my code (assuming its an older version that isnt locked out of Lemmi or whatever, i dont know too much about tweaking)

Im gonna try and get my friend with a 'boosted mountaineer' (his words) to show up, but he wont dyno since he gets free runs at 2 other shops.

I can see it from both sides though. The incremental cost is minimal to allow additional runs. At the same time there are costs associated which, with additional runs, they have lowered their margin.

she gets hot, and needless to say, it would be hot after a dyno run. but maybe we can give it an hour or two to cool off, while other people are dynoing.
but ive got a lower temp thermostat, which seems to help, as it turns the jet engine of a radiator fan on usually after a minute of ideling.

K03's are rated to run optimally at ~14,15psi and start to die at anything above that. FWIW, I would set it at ~14psi or below, unless you got the backup cash chillin' the checking account.

And yes, you want the MBC in parallel to avoid spikes.

The maximum pressure supported by the turbo is really speed dependant. Trying to ask a K03 to supply 17+ at 6k revs is impossible. But a spike at 3000 RPM to 17 PSI with a taper down from there doesn't seem to be too exhaustive (so to speak) on those snails.

Or at least I tell myself this so as not to expose my inner desire for them to blow making an upgrade logical. ;-0

I'd like to keep it conservatively tuned to help preserve the k03s.
i got a little mixed up on my boost numbers. My old 200 pushed like 1.3 bar (about 18psi) and i guess the K04s can do 18....oops

$4750 for a full kit is pretty attractive considering it includes everything for Stage 3. That gets it to a full Stage 3+ for about $6k.

I have been flip flopping between the AWE kit and home brew. Although home brew is within my capability. I'm just getting too old to mess with stuff. Add to this idea that the AWE can also be tuned further and it starts making more sense for me.

But I'm with you, I'd like the runs.

But if there are cars on the lifts and no wrenches being turned, that is lost time. It all boils down to the shop and the individuals and what they have going on. Hopefully for us their shop is empty and they have no wives/children/friends/girl friends to attend to and would be glad to spend extra time with us. That would make me very happy. :-)

IMO, I would love it if they allowed more runs as it would allow us to possibly make changes and then retest

I am just hoping that my number comes up about this time next year when I planned on doing the TB/Water Pump swap. Granted it is more extensive to pull the whole engine but I can more easily justify it at that time.

today, they will be 2 days late but it says "out for delivery". I'm leaving work as soon as the status changes to install it.

As far as the dyno, I wrote that no one was dynoing unless they paid in advance. I am kind of going through post VW / BMW invite regret. Hopefully, this should take care of it. lol.
