Graduating from UNC, and will probably be joining SunTrust RH, in ATL.

Still haven't made up my mind, but its the way I'm leaning.

Anyone have any input on places to look for townhomes, etc....preferably not too far of a commute from Buckhead.

an area close to it (Virginia Highlands, Little 5 Points or the West Side) - Little 5 Points if you like the alternative thing and Va. Highlands if you wear your sweater around your neck : p

Ifc you are young and single - do NOT move to DUNWOODY, COBB or anywhere outside of 285 - unless you want to bag you a nice soccer mom. ; >

My 2?.

BTW - It will be nice to have another Monster in Atlanta!

L5P / Inmanpark are great and less than a mile from the highlands, lotsa stuff going up in/around there. Are you looking to buy or rent? Lotsa new construction all over the place. Most places are on the up swing in terms of value w/ the huge move going in to the city.

Stay the heck away from anywhere outside the perimeter if you are single and young.

pick ones that arent nice.
Cobb (marietta, and east cobb) along with Sandy Springs and Dunwoody are very nice areas. But those are the only areas outside 285 I would recommend...
There are plenty of crappy areas inside the perimeter that are either ghettos or way too expensive (with their fair share of super-high-maintenance soccer moms). Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with highlands, midtown or 5 points.

living near where you work is definitely a plus in Atlanta

Im pretty excited about the move..I've been to ATL a few times and liked it a lot.

I will definitely keep those places in mind when I start speaking with realtors. I am still up in the air with respect to renting or buying, because even though I have a great credit score, being a fresh college grad I don't really have the income history to support a mortgage...even if I will be more than able to pay it in the future because of my job.

I'll definitely check out some of the ATL meets when I get down there as well.

Clubs, restaurants; moderately priced for condos, lofts (intown). Atlantic Station is very cool too.
All are close to Buckhead and you won't need to get on the @(*&$^! freeways to get to RH in Buckhead.

http://www.atlofts.com/</a
