All,
The Audi Car Club of North America will be sponsoring a caravan to Road Atlanta and an infield gathering both Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17. The main race is on Sunday, however both days will be filled with support races and practice/qualifying sessions so get your Superticket and plan to make it a weekend if you can! As this is a shorter race than the 10-hour race in the Fall, we are not planning lunch, however, we will have an all-you-can-drink beverage (beer, water, soda) option priced very attractively. This will be available all day Saturday and Sunday and the armbands will be sold by the club in the gathering area. STaSIS Engineering will be running a car in the Speed World Challenge Touring Class race on Saturday, and they plan to have a show car parked in our gathering area showcasing some of their gear.
Caravan Details (Both Saturday and Sunday):
Meet at the Cracker Barrel at I-85 and Jimmy Carter Blvd (exit 99) between 8:00 and 8:30am. We will depart promptly at 8:30am. Address is 6175 McDonough Drive, Norcross, GA 30093.
Infield Gathering Details:
This is not an "official" corral as we are not reserving space at Road Atlanta. Those of us caravanning will try to secure a space large enough for those interested to park together. If you miss the caravan, look for us in the area on this MAP marked "Car Club Corrals." If you can't find us, feel free to call me on my cell phone at 404-217-0004.
Camping:
I will be camping in the infield Saturday night because it doesn't make sense to drive home especially after drinking beer all day in the hot sun. The more, the merrier, so bring your tent and bag! As I will already be at the track on Sunday morning, someone else will be leading the caravan from Cracker Barrel to Road Atlanta that day.
Other Info:
There is no sign-up or RSVP required. Just show up at Cracker Barrel or at the track. This is open to all interested, not just Audi Car Club NA members. While this is targeted at Audi enthusiasts, all makes/models are welcome so feel free to invite your friends.
Please e-mail or call me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Chris Woodward
