hmm, it's been a few weeks and I thought it might be fun. On a side note, anyone in Nashville who wants to troubleshoot Audis give me an email, I'm losing coolant and feel like doing a car-dork weekend.

weekend before v-day i'll probably be out of town

other than that, i should be available for any gtg's...of course, that is dependent on me not moving in the next month :(

I've just been hanging around getting the new house set up. I just got through installing 220V in the garage for the new 60 gallon compressor. =D

A good buddy of mine is an entertainment lawyer with 8 years experience, lost his job due to family issues(took a hiatus from work and they found another suit), and now that he's back on track, he's had a heck of a time landing a job with a firm. Recently started his own partnership with a couple of other cats.

What's your area of focus/expertise?

I wish you luck. I may point you his way, after I speak with him. Let me know if you bag the other job, and I won't worry about it.

Cheers,
Patrick

I'm thinking of having some people over to have drinks and do a little grilling on Saturday.. anyone local is welcome to come by. Course, that means I'll have to get the garage back together again. Afterwards there's been some talk about heading into the city to tear things up a little. The people who already said they're stopping by are a mix of people from work, my g/f's work, and a bunch of randoms. Should be fun!

House is in SE Nashville off of Old Hickory and Nolensville. I'm pretty sure we can manage to get some DD's arranged, unless someone wants to volunteer!

Let me know if anyone is interested in stopping by or meeting us out in the city

one year doing boring document review/deposition research at one of the local complex lit boutiques that was a bass spinoff.

one year entertainment law.

then worked in dc doing some election law stuff this past fall.

i'd be interested in hearing more about his entertainment law practice. while at vandy law, i was on the entertainment law journal - and my note was on music law, and then i was a music notes editor my 3L year.

My sister and her husband are both lawyers in DC.
She works for a large corporate law firm, and her hubby is clerking for Justice Rehnquist. She went to Vandy Law for 1 year, and transferred to the Univ. of Chicago. She's the breadwinner in the fam right now. Kinda cool, and they just got married last year.

As far as my buddy goes, I'm not sure what the deal is with the partnership, except that it's contract law, for all intents and purposes. Best let him describe it to you. Maybe he can provide some guidance as to the job market. He owns an A4 Avant, the lease of which he's trying to get out from under.
