But I'd like to see it go to a good home. Talked to the owner (nephew of the 1st owner) and he said it runs great, but needs paint (faded, no rust) and the steering is making a "groan." Sounds like a deal... $800 asking price and I think they're motivated. and minor work needed is not quite the truth. The sunroof is one giant rust spot, the windshield is cracked the brakes barely work and make an angry hissing sound for as long as you stay on the breakes. Drivers back door only opens from the inside, passenger window needs help moving up, doorskins are falling of the back doors. If anybody needs me to add anything let me know.
Okay, to be fair, the engine runs fine and transmission shifts well, but its not worth more than half what he wants. Nice guy though, just does not know much about Audi's.

Yeah I should have specifically stated I didn't look at it. I asked about the condition of the sunroof (because they always die on 4000s) and he said "it works." I guess that's true. ;-)
I had planned to offer no more than $500 even based on his description and the photo. From what you're saying, it could possibly make a nice track car project, but I agree, $300-400 tops.
Oh. my. god.
So how's the new job? You must have way too much time on your hands..... ;)

it came from a guy on the TT forum. Gave him the pic from the 2000 (I think) Mid-Ohio event. I'm sure Tom's gonna love it!
New job is going well... working from home is awesome!
