here a while back about a law in Ga. that only allows the state patrol to stop someone for going less than ten over the limit. I believe the law code number was posted too. Anyone know/remember this??? Tia.

Georgia law prohibits county, city, and university police from issuing speeding citations based on radar or laser speed measurement for less than 10mph over the limit. It does not apply to speed measurement by vascar or pacing, and does not apply to state patrol. Google for "georgia legislature", select current laws, then search for "lidar" or "laser".
What's the big deal, anyway? Speeding citations for less than 15 over the limit don't go on your DMV record and are invisible to the insurance companies. Just pay up the damn fine and move on - I call it "the speeding tax". Unless, of course, you're a young driver (I don't remember exactly what the age limit is, but I think it's 18) - then you're SOL and they suspend your license for a while...

Lots more interesting traffic laws there too.

School zones are free game for ANY cop in GA ... that's the one caveat, at least when I looked up the law, several years ago. Not sure if "work zones" are the same.

below 35 mph. Still leaves a lot though. :)
