...Waynesville, Franklin? I may be moving there later this year. Have to leave Colorado (bummer!) to be nearer family (and lower cost of living). I'm a retired guy, own a '93 100 (see sig) and a Jeep Cherokee. Do most of my own work on the cars, but occasionally need a shop.
Thanks

I live in Asheville, so I'd be happy to help out with anything, not just the car stuff. Our dealer is pretty much ok as far as the older cars (no offense) go, there are a handful of highly experienced guys there. As far as indy shops, hmmmm, I know of a couple of places, none real close to where you'll be, and I would doubt there's a competent Audi tech deep in the mountains, so may have to settle with a drive to Asheville.
The first place I know is Import Connection (828-684-0193) on Long Shoals Road in Arden, just off of I26, which connects to I40, which gets you to Waynesville area. They always have BMWs, older Jags, some Japanese stuff, and occassionally a Rolls Royce is there (all older models). They seem pretty busy all the time, so that could be a good sign. The second place is Precision International. They're located in a new facility (off I40, about 10 minutes closer to you), and do only european makes. Mark (dunno if he's still there or not) worked on my dad's 635CSi and we were pretty satisfied with the place in general. I don't know their new number, sorry. Hope that helps.

....although the quattro is great. But right now, we are having the Great Colorado Blizzard of 2003 (4 feet of the white stuff in drifts in my yard and driveway), and even the Audi can't handle that. I'll keep in touch, as to when we'll be there. Thanks again.

Hey bud, I'm also from Asheville. When you say the dealer in Asheville, are you talking about Deal? I was scoping around town to find anyone willing to do some tranny work on my car and Deal didn't sound too excited about it. Did however score a nice paint touch up kit from them for a little over 5 bucks ;)
The one other place I could recommend is a little further of a drive. It's called Quattro South Enterprise, and it's in Black Mtn. Addy is 579 Blue Ridge Road. Number 828-669-2173.
Specializes in "older" (esp 5cyl) Audis.

hmm, I only have seen a couple of 80's runnin' round town, and the NCSU email addy I guess means you're still in school there. Drop me a line anytime you're in town though...

Yeah, still in school. Does seem there are a surprising few 5cyls in Aville. Seen a couple of 90s, an 80 here and there, and a few coupe GTs. Tried to get a parkway drive going a little while back in this forum, but never had much luck. Good to know you're there. Next time I come back I'll def put a msg up. Prolly gonna be doing a little work on my poor tired car.
