View Full Version : Is anyone planning another Atlanta meet? Carguy427 11-20-2002, 04:47 PM JCF 11-21-2002, 03:25 PM Max'sCoupeGT 11-21-2002, 04:51 PM I like my "mountain drive" idea. There's a ton of great roads up here, and we need to pick a weekend to go out and assault them. We'd let the quattro guys go out front, us two-wheelers could be in the back. I saw an Audi gathering up this way, some guys I talked to at the September 8th Perimeter meet said it might have been them. I like the idea of the mountain drive, there's plenty of places we could stop along the way, plenty of good lunch spots, etc. Feedback on this plan? BluDemon 11-21-2002, 04:57 PM BTW I just ordered an APR chip programer if anyone needs a download in the future. Chris quattros.org 11-21-2002, 05:47 PM Carguy427 11-23-2002, 11:16 AM I would love to go for a mountian drive. If I ever get the damn vibration out of my car. I brought it back and they balanced the tires. The vibration got better but still existed. So it is actually in the shop again today. Hopefuly they will find out what it is and get it fixed. butlertire 11-26-2002, 12:17 PM We are still in the works for a meet. The head guys from Toyo are getting involved, we have been talking about a ride and drive, thats driving a car with different types of Toyo tires, they have to approve it because of the expense. -Kevin jgriff 11-26-2002, 05:22 PM little noisy. will rotating help? only about 6,000 miles on them at this point. Big improvement over the Potenza RE040's in performance. Thanks, look forward to your "thing" Jeff butlertire 11-30-2002, 04:34 AM Have you checked the alignment? You might have some cupping, I have them on my slk, no problem.. You need to check the alignment every 5,000 miles, We can do that for you, we are alot less than the dealer and perform quality work, Jim Ellis sends us alignments every day, we do alot of them.. Kevin 02 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Carguy427 12-01-2002, 08:41 AM After going back to the dealer twice they sent my car to Butler Tire and now I have a new favorite tire store. Butler Tire was able to get the vibration out that the Dealer could not. This is also a testment to Jim Ellis realizing that they don't have the equipment to fix all problems and they send the car to someone who does. Rather then tell you: "The car is operating to Spec." I hate when dealerships say that. butlertire 12-02-2002, 05:34 AM Just to let everyone know, the Doraville location is the HQ for all the Audi guys, I have a new 02 A4 Remus Exhaust, 19 inch wheels/yoko, and spring kit, We are putting a big meet together with Toyo and some other clubs soon..We do on car balancing, complete suspension work etc. Just call Ccraig or I if you guy need anything.. how many members do you think we can get to come when we have a meet?? Kevin Carguy427 12-02-2002, 05:39 PM I am not sure how many people will go, but it sounds like it would be significant. Especially if you get the word out a couple of weeks in advanced. The weather will be a big factor. butlertire 12-03-2002, 03:45 AM I know I have talked about it, but we want to make this a nice meet, a way we can meet people and a way to show people what we do. Ttoyo tires wants to get involved, we might have a ride and drive, maybe make a two day meet, one here and maybe one at a location where we can drive cars with different tires..so feed back from you guys is important.. Kevin Carguy427 12-03-2002, 05:59 PM A two day event sounds great. For the first day anywhere that has a big parking lot or open area will do fine. Maybe someplace close to your shop so we can see some of the things you guys can do. I am not sure where we could meet to test tires. If Possible Road Atlanta would great. Maybe up in Dahlonega but that might be to far. Or when I was in college we took a empty parking lot on campus, setup some cones and had an autocross. That might work if we can find an empty parking lot big enough and where police won't have a problem. butlertire 12-04-2002, 06:31 AM We will probably meet here on a sat afternoon, then meet again sun am, Toyo wants to start to get a head count, they will set up a venue, if there is not a big showing they will not do it, they said maybe March, but in March there is the auto show and then a nascar race..you guys need to help me with some dates and getting the word out, I have not had much feedback but only a few.. Thanks Kevin RobC 12-04-2002, 11:42 AM Just pick a day that's not a race day, and 3 months should be enough notice that people will try to schedule around it. Maybe you should consider putting up a website or something where interested people can enter their names. Car folks simply need a reason to get together. No need to twist any arms :) quattros.org 12-07-2002, 11:37 AM Not me butlertire 12-10-2002, 06:15 AM The show and nascar race usually fall on the same weekend, last year it was not, in order to plan an excellent event we need to keep away from these dates, You would be surprised on how many european are race fans, even nascar, I my self am an ex race car driver, short, track, late model, race trucks, SCCA, plus a lot of people go for the sponsorship part.
