View Full Version : Wow only people on Audiworld like my car.... : ( debadgeds4 04-20-2008, 06:16 PM I even felt obligated to actually register to post on this thread......

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=204904</a

S4Per 04-20-2008, 06:29 PM and yeah, we did meet then (re: AZ thread). way to go with the car. it's gotta' feel really good to have her running this well! :) never mind the haters. BJC::wokka wokka 04-20-2008, 07:55 PM Majority of the crowd has seemed to turn everything into a competition. Not very many people will ever appreciate what you accomplish regardless if it has or has not been done before. Tons of arrogance in the enthusiasts atmosphere. You've got quite the beast. - GT Style - 04-20-2008, 09:07 PM debadgeds4 04-20-2008, 09:42 PM close with plain K04's. TS4F 04-20-2008, 10:17 PM great numbers, well done! Enigmagic 04-21-2008, 01:24 AM yes, he's definately a tool. maybe he'll release some cheap gt's, but from what i've heard so far i'd rather install these instead :) jason:addict 04-21-2008, 06:26 AM Maybe we finally get a good compromise solution to big power? TS4F 04-21-2008, 06:52 AM Enigmagic 04-21-2008, 07:16 AM nogaro avant with tial's ;) Enigmagic 04-21-2008, 07:18 AM

http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2775294.phtml</a

TS4F 04-21-2008, 07:22 AM I guess if you're rebuilding anyway . . . Enigmagic 04-21-2008, 07:41 AM then it's just a matter of installing new CHRAs or different turbos altogether (e.g. TiAL) Brazil 04-21-2008, 09:01 AM it a "track". What they should be saying is the strip where drag queens play with their junk. Second, most of us don't give a **** about the strip. We drive our cars on the road, and occasionally on a REAL track with corners and the need for brakes. If you tune your car to do well on the strip, you often do not have a well running, streetable car and you almost always have a car that could not survive a 20 minute track session. Lastly, most of these guys test their cars against each other by doing freeway pulls from 2nd or 3rd gear. A well tuned strip car may not do well on a freeway pull etc... In all, don't worry about those guys. They type numbers on their keyboard. Plus, they post on AZ, their decision making ability is marginal at best. Mike@StartupRacing 04-21-2008, 09:21 AM Even if it was a high reading Dyno, there still great numbers!!! Does it really matter if it's conservative @ 450, or a little high 450. It's still a TON of HP! With a turbo car, if you waited till it was 30 deg out side, I'm sure you can hit 460-470whp pull! Congrats, & enjoy it, they all wish, their broke down cars are that fast! BJC::wokka wokka 04-21-2008, 12:24 PM The reason people say you should dyno close to a direct drive ratio, 1:1, just depends on how the dyno reads the power. For instance... The DynoJet creates horsepower numbers based on teh mass (weight on the rollers) and the acceleration. So as you can tell... shorter the ratio, the quicker the acceleration will be. So that would skew up the numbers. Dynoing in the closest 1:1 ratio will get close to eliminate an acceleration advantage. Mustang uses a load cell to measure the roll force (amount of force the tire is placing on the roller). Then based on roll force and the radius arm going to the load cell will give you roll torque. Based on roll torque and roll speed, you get horsepower. Vehicle RPM off the horsepower will give you torque. And so on. debadgeds4 04-21-2008, 12:36 PM debadgeds4 04-21-2008, 01:55 PM |
