Powder Alert
Sent out 12:26 pm Sunday, March 23, 2008
For Monday March 24th
A trough of low pressure with very cool air is moving over the region and that means great skiing ahead.
Moderate to heavy snow will fall today into tonight and Monday. The amounts will not be epic, but the quality will be fantastic and you'll certainly float some turns on Monday.
The snow level will be about 1000ft by Monday morning; therefore the snow will be unusually light for this time of year. I expect 5-10 inches of new snow. You should favor slopes facing north and get there early morning. Groomers will be smooth as silk.
The week will see snow showers at times with continued low snow levels; as a result surface conditions will continue excellent and more powder will be seen. Take advantage of the conditions, as these low snow levels will not continue too much longer.
Happy "Powder" Spring Skiing
