My 98 A4 has 235/45/17 Wanli S-1099 tires with 80% or more of the tread left, and I can honestly say they are the worst tire I have ever experienced in the rain, bar none! Very low braking and cornering threshold in the wet, way lower than any tire I have driven on.
Previous owner had these tires installed, and they seem to have fair dry traction and horrible wet traction. Track day on Tuesday was very slippery. Needless to say, next wet track day I'll either be in my other Audi or on new tires.
Don't be lured in by the cheap prices, these tires, in my opionion, are barely even safe in the rain!!! Huge SKIP on the Wanli tires.
