Using generators and grills indoors?!?!?
SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- About 100 people have been poisoned by carbon monoxide produced by generators and charcoal grills used for warmth and light during the widespread power outages caused by a major storm in western Washington state.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WEATHER/12/17/nw.storm.ap/index.html</a

one apartment. He said the problem was that they were used to doing that at home where their houses are not sealed as well and have better ventilation.

desperate, I know I can call someone and go spend the night elsewhere. You'd think they'd be smarter than that. If they have to resort to lighting a grill, you'd think they would have enough sense to find outside help (a friend, a shelter, or something).

Our power went out at about 11pm on Thursday and came back on at about 6am Friday morning.
We cranked up the wood burning stove and have a gas water heater so we had showers. We had over a dozen people here Friday night taking showers, doing laundry and having warm meals. Theres still 4 people staying here because their power is still off in Newcastle. I hope their power goes on before the keg is empty...hehe
