You can get good deals to stay at Cooper Spur and ski at Mt Hood Meadows...

it was cheaper to stay there and ski than buying just the lift tickets would've been without their deal. good ****.

and meadows is better.

Meadows - Best terrain (lots of bowls, lots of tree runs). Best snow. Best lifts (all the major ones are high speed quads). But gets extremely crowded on weekends in Jan/Feb (expect 30 min lift lines). And they charge too much for a lift ticket.

Timberline - Less crowded. Cheaper. Best terrain park (or so I've heard from multiple people... I stay away from parks). But terrain isn't all that great (I get bored after 2 hours). Mostly high speed quad lifts.

Ski Bowl - Less crowded. Cheapest of them all. Most lit runs for night skiing. Terrain is good (esp the upper bowl). But lifts suck (all slow doubles and triples). And snow can suck (low elevation = more slush/wet snow).
